Lean Learnings: A Collection of Stories and Findings from a New Lean JourneyBryan Wehmeyer Bryan will provide stories detailing successes (and pitfalls) at the early stages of Agilent’s lean journey, pointing to the usage of lean tools as well as the challenges of establishing the organizational culture required to support it. Bryan will touch on implementation projects that highlight cellular flow manufacturing, poka-yoke (mistake proofing), 5S, kanban and visual management. Bryan’s background in lean began over 16 years ago
as a consultant in the nation of Singapore. Since that time, Bryan continued
to develop skills in lean implementation through private consulting in
small to medium sized businesses followed by a leap to Hewlett-Packard
in 1998. Following the spin-off of Agilent Technologies, Bryan has worked
as an internal lean facilitator across multiple business functions. Currently,
he is helping to facilitate the launch of an order fulfillment lean effort.
Bryan holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati
as well as a Quality and Process Improvement MBA from Miami University. |
