Emerging Market SourcingChris Moye Emerging markets sourcing aimed at cost-cutting alone is a thing of the past. Quality, efficiency and effectiveness of global sourcing operations now differentiate competitors. But, profitibility is being squeezed by unprecedented cost pressures from customers with their own capabilities and suppliers facing higher costs. Alvarez & Marsal has found that many companies want
to benefit from emerging markets sourcing ("EMS"), but often
neglect to build robust business processes to manage the added complexity
in the supply chain, and fail to connect disparate corporate functions
in managing both short- and long-term business needs. Chris Moye is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Business Consulting. Mr. Moye serves as National Solution Leader of the firm's Supply Chain practice and specializes in driving operational improvements to meet market needs. His primary areas of concentration include supply chain management, customer-focused transformations and the implementation of profitability / cash flow improvement strategies. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Moye was corporate vice president of global supply chain with Campbell Soup Company. While at Campbell’s, Mr. Moye lead a successful supply chain transformation that produced productivity savings of several hundred million dollars and improved customer service through a structured change management process. With more than two decades of hands-on operational and consulting experience across industries such as automotive, consumer products, consumer durables, high tech and life sciences, Mr. Moye brings a perspective that comes from working from the shop floor up to the boardroom. He has significant expertise executing supply chain solutions - across procurement, planning, manufacturing and maintenance, warehousing, distribution and customer service - as well as driving top-line growth through product and channel development. Mr. Moye also brings experience in Lean / SixSigma, competitive assessments, deal structuring, product / marketing management and international sourcing, particularly in emerging markets. Over the course of his career, he has held senior management positions across the supply chain, sales and marketing, and management consulting divisions, each with a focus on driving significant strategic change, including turnarounds. Previously, he held key positions - including C-level roles - in leveraged buyouts both within portfolio companies and as a principal at an LBO company. Mr. Moye earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical
engineering from General Motors Institute (now known as Kettering University)
and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He has previously been a
member of the faculty at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania,
and is a frequent speaker on the key trends in supply chain, change management
and technology use. |
