In the early 1980’s the company was focused mainly on over-the-road trucking services operating as National Freight. Expanding upon its base, the company has evolved into four affiliated companies providing transportation services (NFI National Freight), warehousing and inventory management (NFI National Distribution Centers), dedicated fleets and transportation management (NFI Interactive Logistics) and real estate development (NFI Real Estate).

Sidney began his career after graduation from Georgetown University in 1979. He worked for Morgan Stanley in New York City as financial analyst in the corporate finance department of this investment bank. He then moved on to complete his MBA at Harvard University in 1983 and joined the family business with his two brothers, Ike and Jeffrey. Working under his father, Bernard, Sidney worked in many different areas of the business and rapidly rose to the position of Chief Operating Officer. Sidney set the vision to rapidly grow through startups, acquisitions, and the aggressive growth of the base business, spreading the companies’ reach across all of North America. Today NFI and its affiliated companies employs more than 4,100 people operating out of approximately 125 facilities, in 40 states and Canada. Revenues have surpassed $600 million and the company is well positioned to continue its explosive growth.

Sidney has lived in the Delaware Valley for most of his life and has been active in numerous charitable organizations. He has served on the Board of the YMCA in Vineland and his local synagogue, Beth El in Cherry Hill. He helped lead two significant projects in the local area; the Early Childhood Center in Voorhess for Beth El, and the redevelopment of the new clubhouse at Woodcrest Country Club.
